How do I get a website?
First, you need to decide whether your own domain name, www.mycompany.com
or non-domain name, www.solutionsjtr.com/mycompany.
If Non-domain name: Most ISPs that you get your service to get on the internet
can provide space for a website. They will also provide or can tell you where to
get the tools you need to upload your web files to their web server. If you want to use
a specific tools such as Microsoft FrontPage, you need to make sure this ISP has support
for FrontPage Server Extensions. We provide support for any web tool (Microsoft FrontPage)
that uses FrontPage Server Extensions.
If Domain Name: First, you need to find an ISP to host your domain name and
website. Second, you need to decide on your domain name. Your domain name must be unique
and you can check with internic to confirm that it
is unique. Third, your ISP must set-up it's web server for
your website, it's Domain Name Servers with your domain name
and then make application to Internic to register your domain name. The only thing left to do
is to transfer your website files to the ISP's web server. This should be done before
the approval from Internic so that your site is ready to go as soon as you get Internc approval.
As with Non-domain Name, your choice of ISPs is important. Whether your designing your website yourself
or having someone do it for you, it's important your ISP support the tools that are being used to
design and maintain your website. These tools can make a big difference in the amount of
time it takes to design and maintain your website. We support FrontPage Server Extensions,
ASP and Office Server Extensions.
What does it cost have a website?
Non-domain name: (www.solutionsjtr.com/mycompany) Most ISPs that you get your service to get on the internet
can provide space for a website as part of your monthly charge. We provide a Basic Non-Domain Hosting
that starts at $15.00/month.
Domain Name: (www.mycompany.com) Our Site Setup is $60.00. Our Basic Domain Hosting rate starts at
$30.00/month. Internic current charges $70.00 for the first 2 years of domain name registration
and $35.00/year after to first 2 years.
